Our #3 Hercules tool is supplied with a 17″ handle with 3″ epoxied into the handle. Without a handle, the overall length of the tool shaft is 9″. If you are buying the shaft only to use with your own handle, we recommend a 17” handle with about 3″ of the shaft epoxied into the handle.

The Hercules Tool was designed for the first cuts on a new piece. Let this hard working #3 Hercules take all of the shock and interruption. The 5/8″ shank is a strong shank and any impacts are absorbed by the shank and then distributed into the tool rest and down into the ways of the lathe. This tool can also perform with a “soft touch” for those final finish cuts. For finish cuts, drop the handle to rid the bevel on the carbide for an amazing finish cut.
